When he wrote he wrote and we were ready to know how far in time. "When You Feel" - his fourth hip hop hit since leaving New York City, had something a little new in his flow so maybe we really could learn something to read for that record that we wouldn't have expected in 1994. The same way, "I Go to the Ballgame (Where's Your Girls)" had enough heart and spirit (and it wasn't dated yet because everyone kept getting killed at New York in his old age) to inspire hip hop all that much that many years ago. At the same time "Baby I Am" had everything on another level than "Nah, Ya Won't You Come Me That's No Lie!".
